Green Acres in Waterloo Ontario
We decided to camp in Waterloo at the Green Acres campground. I had an appointment with a Naturopath Dr in Waterloo so it was convenient that way. Green Acres had quite a few seasonal campers. We had a really nice site on a pond. Fortunately for us (Al) it was a drive through site! Set up in no time. This campground was close to the St Jacobs market and offered a stay 2 nights get one free. We toured the market on the Thursday. Had not been there in years. 2 years ago the Market had burnt to the ground. They were just finishing up the new building. We also went into the village and I shopped a little in the dress shops and the quilt shops. Lovely town. I would go back to this campground. They also had 3 seasonal trailers that you could rent. (in case the kids would want to come) 10 minutes and you were in the city. It was cold at night so we stayed inside and watched a couple of DVDs.
We finally took our new 5th wheel out for a weekend with friends! Not to far from home though! We went to Ayton Ontario, Silent Valley Camp Ground. A good campground but the black flies were biting. They were not the big flies but little ones. Still left a mark.
We joined some friends there on the Friday to Sunday for the May long weekend. This was the virgin trip and wouldn't you know a tough campsite to get into. Al did a fab job turning the trailer 90 degrees to line it up on the site. Once parked we opened it up and started enjoying the weekend. Friday night it rained so John and Darlene, Chop and Dan came inside our 'home' and we visited by the fireplace! I know---really roughing it. Saturday and Sunday were great days. Good food, walks, games, books read, naps, and campfires. We packed up on Monday and headed home! It was going to be a quick turnaround as we were leaving the Tuesday for Waterloo, Ontario.
