We had a couple of days through the week and decided to try out Shamadon Resort in Ayton, Ontario. This was about an hour's drive from home.
The park was a quarter mile off the road so it was very secluded. We had a 'true' drive through site with all hook ups. Our set up time is getting shorter I think. This park had free wifi and free fire wood. The staff were very friendly. There were about 140 sites. The more secluded sites were up on a hill.
We were sitting watching a movie or news when I noticed one of the 2 lights hanging over the counter was just 'hanging by the wire' Al fixed that. It must have loosened from the ride over. Little things.
We would like go back to this park. It was 70$ a night tho. More expensive then some of the others but with some freebies thrown in it was worth it. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have seen.
2 nights and then we headed back home. Not sure where we go next!!

Wheatley Ontario, Campers Cove, June 16-21
We knew we wanted to try a place a little further from home so Al found us a spot in Wheatley, Ontario. It took us 4 hours to get there. A good drive with the trailer. On the way home Al even ventured on the 402.
Our campsite was a drive through. But a tight one. There was a tree placement that we had to watch out for. A kind older gentleman across the road 'helped' guide us in. We never saw him again after that. Al's confidence is building with towing this big rig and parking it! Although, he would like to be able to just pull in and set up all in one swoop!
It had been raining so it was wet and muddy. But we got all set up. The site was 2 rows from the beach---but that beach wasn't all that good. The sand is way nicer on Lake Huron as opposed to Lake Erie. We could not sit outside either. The 'muffle head flies' were still around. The campground host told us that they were sticking around longer then usual. So we took that to mean they are a spring type pest. They don't bite but they were sure aggravating----on everything and everywhere.
So we are in Wine Valley area. We toured a few wineries----actually only toured 1, and tasted wine at the others. Came home with different Rieslings and Pinot Grigio. Favourite so far is the Island Time by Pelee Island. We also toured Pelee National Park. We took our bikes and biked around 16Ks. Not bad for my first bike ride! There were different school groups in taking their school end trips. All having a blast. We did have to hike the rest of the way to the point of the park. Much like when we were on Pelee Island we had to hike to the most southern point of Ontario---and maybe Canada.
Never have been in Wheatley, Leamington, Kingsville and Harrow it was a good tour. We would go back again.
